When building a profitable practice, it’s important to remember self-care. The definition of self-care will vary from one person to another. One might equate spending some quiet time alone with a good book as self-care. Others may view retirement after decades of working as a way to care for themselves. The goal in both situations is to develop an environment conducive to a healthier mind and better emotional balance. You want to avoid stress and strife. Self-care means more time enjoying positive emotions, and less time dealing with drama. This is an important gift to give yourself because the dangers of constant drama are very serious.
Drama can lead to an emergency room visit.
Did you know that many visits to a doctor’s office or an emergency room are stress related? Stress is also linked to the six leading causes of death globally. Why are we talking about stress in an article that deals with ditching drama? It’s because you can’t have drama without stress and stress without drama.
We recognize that some dramatic events can be extremely enjoyable. Getting married is a positive example of drama. In most cases though, their feelings are negative when people think of a dramatic experience. An automobile accident is a dramatic situation you’d certainly rather avoid. An accident might be something you have no control over. We do have control over so many other areas of our lives. That includes the way we care for ourselves.
